The Chilterns Branch of The Guild of Silk Painters has members based in Bucks, Herts, Berks and Beds. We meet on the first Tuesday of each month in the workshops’ premises of Rainbow Silks at 4 Wheelers Yard, High Street, Great Missenden. Meetings are scheduled for 7 pm to start at 7:30 pm.
We have demonstrations of various techniques in silk painting and related disciplines such as embroidery and batik. We run our own exhibitions with demonstrations and promote the sale of our work.
Each month we have a ’theme’ suggested by members. Some of the subjects so far explored are screen printing on silk, working with tjantings and wax, hidden gutta lines, making silk covered books and box lids, with many more ideas for the future meetings.
We hold several all-day workshops each year at the Chorleywood Arts Centre.
